Camper Fever!
Just as Camper Fever begins to set in... I was saved by a luncheon with fellow pipeline wives/girlfriends. Every week on Wednesday the ladies get together for lunch to discuss our campers, the job, family, etc... Today was my second time going to the luncheon and I felt myself open up more then I did the first round. The main topic of the conversation today was my friend getting her jeans stolen from the laundry mat last Thursday. Most of the ladies had heard about it through the Pipeline Grapevine but had not been able to ask the questions nor hear the entire story. Now with me being new to this lifestyle the ladies were quick to give me tips on how to help prevent the dents that my very heavy island are leaving in the linoleum. They were not quite able to imagine the island but like any new camper owner I have tons of photos of the camper in my phone. So as I past around my phone the ladies were impressed with my camper and how I'm getting to start the lifestyle in luxury. I quickly stated I lived in a 28ft Outback Keystone for a month before we got the Heartland Gateway. This, of course, started the conversation of what campers everyone else had when they started living on the road with there husbands. One lady said there first camper was a 1980 25ft pop out with no slides, which I haven't a clue what a pop out camper is. Then someone else said another older model and April leaned over and whispered in my ear "I wasn't even born then". I said "I wasn't even a thought". It was nice getting to socialize with a group of women who understand your life style and can give advice. Even though I'm new to this the ladies who have come before me can teach me what to expect and how to make my new life style a little easier on myself!
