Starting Family!

Is it a boy or a girl? When are you due? How exciting! These are the questions I look forward to being asked now that Mat and I have finally decided to start trying… again… to have a baby. Starting a family is an easy decision but doesn’t always happen as fast as you would hope or would like for it to! Now that we have made this decision I have been observing other mothers and how they interact with their children and other peoples children. You never really know what kind of parent you will become but I have been taking notes on the kind of parent I want and I don’t want to be. Now I understand at some point you might become both but in the eyes of the everyday people who see me interact with my children I would want them to say good things about my parenting skills. This is when first impressions really matter! In my observations I took notice to a mother who won’t allow her child to be around or even speak to certain adults because this mother has issues with those adults. How crazy is that! Another mother wouldn’t allow her child to play hide and seek with the children because it’s not a nice game to hide from people. Really, I thought that was the point of the game! How about the mom who allows her child to come help another adult bake treats for other families and friends. Or the mom who allows their child to feel like an adult and make a deposit on the parents behalf. My favorite mom is the one who allows her child to play with everyone but has to check in and come home from dinner. Some of these mothers I have known for awhile and some I have just met and the interactions they have made with their children in front of me will forever give me an impression of them. Passing judgment on these mothers is not my place but it has helped me really the mom I will be and will not be! In all reality I want to be just like my Mother! In my mind, I can be judgmental, she did a pretty awesome job raising one independent, loving, caring, compassionate child. She gave me my space when needed, crowded me when needed, spanked me when needed, held me, taught me right and wrong, taught me to love, and should me how to be loved. This is the Mother I want and will become when my time arrives… hopefully sooner than later! Fingers Crossed!

I'm Back!!!! I know you have missed me or at least my Blog! LOL!

Hey Y'all! I'm back! Miss me??? Maybe just my Blog??? LOL! So much has been going on I'm not even sure where to start. Let's start where we left off... Coming to Ohio!

As most of you know I was not looking forward to coming to Ohio after becoming "friends" with a certain pipeline wife in Oklahoma who got into my head about how the wives in Ohio would not accept me and I would basically have to earn my place as a "Rockford Wife". Low and behold that warning about those wives actually needed to be taken against my "friend". Once we arrived here "my friend" started talking about the luncheons, planned activities in front of me about did not invite me, tried to get mutual friends to stop being friends with Mat and I, and went as far as posting not only one negative comment about me on FB but two! Now being the person I am and being raised to respect others, never invite yourself, and treat them the way you want to be treated I decided to confront this "friend" of mine through a private message on FB after the first comment went up. Apologizing through a private message is not an apology to me, which is what I got. I expected an apology face to face but never got one. So as you can imagine I was very excited for my vacation home to Texas, who wouldn't be... 2 weeks drama free! Well, I came back and nothing had changed in my "friends" attitude...it actually got worse. After a long sit down conversation with Mat we decided it would be better if we were just acquaintances and not friends. Then came the trash talk about me on FB about my shorts and this was the last straw for me. I went marching over to her camper and lined her out, as Mat would call it! I'm not a confrontational person, nor am I got to tell you all what was said, but a person can only take so much trash talk about them before they snap. Well, that happened to me! I have gotten an apology about all the trash talking about me and it was face to face but rumor has it that another Rockford Wife forced her to apologize. As to if it is true or not,  its doesn't really matter to me, an apology is better then nothing! A month has passed and this ex-friend and I have learned to just be civil. I do hear negative things being said about me and some other wives I'm friends with but its not my place to repeat them and lets face it... a person can only change if they really want too! We have removed our evidence of friendship on FB and she's gone as far a blocking me, Mat, and two of our friends who were best friends with her. Personally I think its a little middle school-ish but it is what it is!

Now that I have gotten that drama out of the way... Lets talk about the AWESOME stuff I have been doing while living here in Ohio! First, I saw Wicked with some other Rockford Wives. I'm not much of a musical type person but it was beyond my expectations. It was a LOT of singing but it also had comedy and great dramatization! Then came the Water Park, twice! The first time with the girls and second time with our families, as in the boys were invited! LOL! Next came Zip Lining! What a rush that was! I'm fear full of heights, and no it did not conquer the fear, but that was an extremely awesome experience. I was extremely grateful after repelling the 5 stories to the ground and landing safely. Last, but not the end of the fun since more is to come, White Water Rafting! I could sit here and tell you all day about this adventure but I'll leave it short and sweet. It started off on easy no biggie rapids where I almost fell out of the boat in the first 5 minutes. Then came the surfing the class 3-4 rapid backwards and nose diving into the break and capsizing our boat. Totally thought I was going to drown but got to the rocks safely, guide flipped the boat back over, everyone re-boarded, and we were off to face some more narly rapids! Don't have any photos to show but Mat has some cut up knees to prove it happened.

In between all of that I finally got to see my dad after 5 long years! Best part, I got to spend fathers day with him. However, the least exciting part of the trip was re-entering the US and getting detained all thanks to my husband not remembering my birthdate. Trust me... he knows it now! After a good 20 minutes of violating beauty (my truck) we were aloud to re-enter the US and made our way back to Ohio.

So with all the drama and AWEOME adventures, Ohio is turning out to being a great place. The best part is I got a job to help me stay busy in between adventures. The downside is I have to miss out on some of the luncheons and activities with the other wives if they are not on a Monday or Wednesday or after 1 on Saturday. Also, the Rockford Wives I have meet up here in Ohio are nothing like what my "ex-friend" described them as. I'm very thankful I was raised to make my own decisions about people or I would never of gotten to meet the wonderful ladies here!

Moving to Ohio

Not to worry... I haven't completely given up on my blog! A ton has been going on and I haven't had the service or the time to write and tell y'all all about it! First off we are no longer in Atoka, OK. We have moved to Canal Winchester, OH as of yesterday. We took two days to get here driving 10+ hrs each day. As much as I'm glad to be out of Tornado Alley... I'm missing my friends dearly. I know in time I will meet and make some new friends but for my first experience of living on the road with the hubby I couldn't have asked for a better group of ladies. Secondly, I got past my fear of heights and claustrophobia and adventured to the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis! Lastly, I have less then a month until I get to fly back to my favorite state, Texas, to see my mom and family! Count down begins... 23 days!!!

Hardcore Pawn

I like Drama... As long as I am not apart of it! I love the show Hardcore Pawn and all the drama that goes with it! The pawn shop is in the heart of Detroit right off 8 mile, which I have heard is a bad part of town. The shop attracts all kinds of people and the drama that happens in the shop is just outrageous. At least the show gives Mat and I a good laugh... Plus we stay drama free!

Spring Cleaning!

Spring Cleaning Time!!! Now how exactly is spring cleaning any different from regular cleaning??? Spring cleaning you actually clean out closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc... and give all the stuff not needed anymore to donation centers. Regular cleaning is just cleaning what can be seen. When I lived in a house it took a good 2-3 days to do my spring cleaning on the entire house. Living in a 37' camper it took me all of 2 hrs to do my spring cleaning. I'll take this cleaning any day over my moms 6000 sq ft home, which is taking her almost a month to spring clean!

Taxes... DONE!!!

Taxes are finally done!!! Not exactly as good as last year since I continued to work even though our tax lady told me it would hurt us, which it did. Plus side is next year will be better since I'm not working and if I do get a job when we head to Tulsa, OK it will be part time only. Now I wonder how good our taxes will be once Mat becomes a welder!

Date Night!!!!

Date Night??? Yes Please!!! My husband and I have been living like a "normal" married couple, with the exception that we live in a camper, since Dec. 27th and have yet to have a Date Night. When I say Date Night I mean I get to get all dolled up, put on a party dress, and eat at a fancy dancy restaurant. So it was nice to have a Date Night in Durant at Tokyo Hibachi & Sushi followed by a nice trip to O'Reilly for a welding machine battery. Now just to top off the night with... You know... Wink wink... Bed!
